I received Jewels in the Junkyard this morning and read it this afternoon. It was easy to read, and I did not want to put it down until I read the whole book! It was written from the heart and experiences of Warren Ludwig. In my opinion it should be helpful to anyone that is experiencing grief after the loss of a loved one whether by suicide, accident, bad health, etc. The whole time I was reading Jewels in the Junkyard, I was thinking of others that I thought would benefit from reading it also. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is grieving.Product details

Jewels in the Junkyard is a look at one man's journey through grief and ways to try and get through it. It is honest and ends hopeful for the future. Highly recommend this for anyone that has experienced grief but especially suicide.
This book is so honest, so moving and so thoughtful. Warren shares the journey of his love for his wife Cathy, their journey through her chronic pain, her death by suicide and his journey through grief to a new and different life. He is open about his feelings, struggles and doubts. I loved that he is open about his wrestling with God. As a therapist, I am very glad to now have this to share with my clients going through grief. And the illustrations! They are so beautiful and really add to the narrative. I highly recommend this book!

This is a very sensitive and artistically creative portrail of the worst loss a human can imagine. I learned a lot.
A great example of turning tragic loss in your life into victory through God's grace. The book is very well written and brings you in touch with the writer's heart. My heart was breaking in the first half of the book. The last half was encouraging and full of hope. I highly recommend this book to anyone.
A deeply heart-felt tribute to love and finding one's way after profound loss. Warren inspires and emotes and just generally nails it on the head while his illustrations and Cathy's photos bring the words into reality. This work is a beautiful remembrance of a kind and cherished family member who left us all far too soon.
I appreciate the beautiful encouragement expressed in this little book. Truly the author has been through the healing stages of grief and has much to offer to others who are in the midst of the storms of life. The wonderful illustrations are the work of this gifted Christian and his late wife, a photographer. This book is a blessing.
